About Us
Nebraska Famous Steaks is locally owned and based in Hastings, Nebraska, the heart of beef country. The company was formed in 1991 by two friends, Jeff Andreasen and Bob Gottsch. Jeff owned Famous Steaks of Nebraska and Bob owned Nebraska Choice Steaks. They both realized that they were providing the same high-quality steaks to meat lovers around the country. So they decided to combine resources and sketched out a deal on a napkin. Thus, Nebraska Famous Steaks was born.
Within a short time, one of their best customers and biggest fans, Steve Shetlar, became a shareholder in the organization. Nebraska Famous Steaks was almost complete. Susan Gracey came on board in 1997 after five years with the Nebraska Beef Council. After acting as marketing director for a brief time, she took the reins as company president and manager of day-to-day operations. Together, the principals and president have over 100 years of industry experience.
- Susan Gracey has spent most of her professional career working in the beef industry. She likes to cook and spend time with her family.
- Jeff Andreasen is a second-generation professional working in this industry. He enjoys riding his motorcycle, traveling, and fitness training.
- Bob Gottsch is a fifth-generation Nebraska cattleman. He enjoys racing and NASCAR.
- Steve Shetlar has been in the business for over 30 years. He likes to invest and to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
